Chado Urasenke Tankokai SF Association Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) Tea Ceremony Demonstration
The Chado Urasenke Tankokai San Francisco Association held its annual Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) Tea Ceremony Demonstration on April 17th, 2022, at the location of the former Takara Restaurant located in San Francisco’s Japantown. The Association Board members volunteered and hosted three tea demonstrations.
The Chief of Administration of the Association, Sojin Hagiwara, served as a narrator for the event.
Somi Iwao served as the teishu (host), Sochi Takeda Flynn as the hanto (assistant), and Sokyu Uramoto was the first guest during the first seating which began at 12 pm.
Sojun Haruta served as the host, Sokyu Uramoto as the assistant, and Soko Nakatani was the first guest during the second seating.
Sokyu Uramoto served as the host, Soai Kincaid-Yoshikawa as the assistant, and Soko Liu Hase was the first guest of the third seating.
A total of 26 seats per demonstration were provided in the room for guests, and other guests watched from outside. It was very successful.
